More details… November 10-14, 2003, ULRMC Representative and Project Manager of "Biodiversity Indicators for National Use (BINU)" project participated in the 9-th session of Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention on Biodiversity which tool place in Montreal, Canada. The representatives of the national teams of the BINU Project (Kenya, Philippines, Ecuador, and Ukraine), as well as the Project's donors and consultants - UNEP-WCMC and RIVM - reported on current results and experience gained during project implementation. More details… September 6-9, 2003 - In Yalta, Crimea, ULRMC hosted and participated in a Science Plan Review meeting for the Northern Eurasia Earth Science Partnership Initiative (NEESPI) project, initiated by NASA. The meeting brought together nearly 40 scientists from 10 countries. The NEESPI Science Plan was reviewed by a panel of experts drawn from academic, governmental, and non-governmental agencies. More details… August 26 - 29, 2003 ULRMC specialists, together with experts from laboratories of the State Environmental Inspectorate, State Departments of the Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine in Kherson and Mykolayiv Oblasts, conducted an expedition in the Dnipro Estuary to study its water quality.
